PASIGHAT, Dec 9:  Deputy Commissioner cum chairman, Pasighat Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. (PSCDCL), T Tatak chaired a stakeholders meeting in connection with establishment of Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) under the Smart City Mission on Friday. He asked all stakeholders including Government departments to give feedback on the smart proposals which have been prepared based on Survey for Pasighat for Smart City implementation.
Town Planner, Dept. of Town Planning, Likha Suraj, while briefing on the objective of the meeting , informed that GoAP has signed MoU with Bharat  Electronics Ltd. (BEL), entrusted by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Development, under Smart City Mission to make feasibility report  and integrate all smart elements under one roof for a livable city and improved quality of life . The proposed smart elements include Smart Parking, Intelligent Traffic Management, Public Address system ,Intelligent Transport System, City Wi-Fi, E-Learning, Help Desk (One City-One Number), Smart Health Management , Environmental & Seismic/ Flood sensors, Intelligent Solid Waste ,City Portal,  etc to be taken up in three phases.
He called for stakeholders to give feedback on major issues and on prioritization of the proposed smart elements for finalization of proposals  for implementation of Smart City Project.In a PPT presentation on establishment of ICCC at PSCDCL, Manoj Kumar, Dy. Manager and Vipin Kumar, Manager, BEL, highlighting the importance of ICCC, said that “Smart Solutions” will be an integral part of the Smart City Project adding that BEL’s proposal under Smart City Mission for the NE states focus on ICCC approach, City Wise Surveillance and Monitoring Centre and three phase project implementation of the proposed Smart elements.
The Smart Proposals under Smart City Mission have been drawn up after a survey of NE Cities by BEL & local authorities in which it is sought to address challenges faced by cities like lack of monitoring of solid waste collection system, disaster risk and earthquake prone, traffic congestion, limited parking space, need for proper  city surveillance, street lighting, organized transportation system, etc.
