ITANAGAR, Feb 17:

A day after several hundred of Lekang constituency belonging to the BJP joined the INC, the Arunachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party termed it a ‘staged show’.

It said that the members who joined Congress were BJP rivals during 2014 elections and had joined BJP for some personal interest that could not be materialized.

‘Not a single genuine BJP member has joined Congress and the BJP enjoys absolute majority in Lekang Assembly constituency under the dynamic leadership of our DCM  Chowna Mein,’  said State BJP’s Chief Spokesperson and Vice President Adv. Dominic Tadar.

The Congress is desperate after failed attempt to topple the BJP government in the state and the joining programme at Lekang mostly attended by frustrated Congressmen from other districts and State Capital Itanagar is nothing but a made up show, he added.

The tall promise to provide PRC, LPC and other genuine rights by Congress to different communities like Moran,Deuri, Mishing/Miri,Adivasi,Motok/Moran,Kochair,Sonwar,Ahoms,Nepalis etc. living in the constituency is a huge  misnomer, the BJP further claimed.

It is quite absurd that the Congress has remembered the rights of the communities now. What was it doing when they were in power for almost about 35 years in the state, Tadar questioned.

The peace loving people have been provided with essential amenities like latrines for  all, roads, water, light etc and the people are really lucky to have a dynamic and senior leader like  Chowna Mein who is down to earth and listens to each and every person regarding their problems, reads the BJP statement.
