ZIRO, Aug 24: Saint Claret College today observed its Junior Claretine Council (JCC) Investiture-cum-inauguration of Associations’ Programmes ceremony for the academic year 2019-2020 here at the college auditorium.
Vice Chancellor, IGTAMSU Dr Mridula Saikia Khakinor and Superintendent Engineer, PWD, GoAP Dani Gamboo graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. Commissioning of Junior Claretine Council (JCC), the non-political students’ body of the college and inauguration of various Associations which look after extra-curricular activities were highlights of the programme. 24 students took oath as JCC members with Iri Thomas Riba,  Captain and Michi Gracy, Vice-Captain chosen to lead JCC for the current academic year. 2019 RGU rank holders where SCCZ bagged 7 out of top ten in B.A and 2 out of top ten in B.Com and Mass Communication streams were felicitated. Along with these, 35 subject wise toppers were inducted in the SCCZ Hall of Fame. Bamin Rinyo, the University topper for B.A. thanked the college and encouraged juniors to perform even better. Chief Guest and Guest of Honour while lauding the achievements exhorted students to benefit from the variety of experiences they gather from SCCZ.
Sonisha Rimai Syiem from the Department of Education was awarded the Veliyannoor Varkey-Mary Senior Claretine Award for meritorious services rendered to SCCZ and its stakeholders. Inna Mihu was awarded the Habung Pappu Memorial Scholarship for being the topper in B.A-I. SCCZ PR
