BOMDILA, Dec 7: The 73 Bn SSB, located at Shergaon, organized Samajik Chetana Abhiyan on the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” along with MCA/ VCA Programme.
The programme commenced on December 4 which was inaugurated by Jayant Kumar, Commandant, 73 Bn SSB.  The function was also attended by Dr. P.M Kabui, Comdt. (Med) 30th Bn, SSB, Dirang,  Ashan Kri, Circle Officer, Shergaon and GBs of villages of Kalaktang circle along with a huge participation by local residents and students of various schools of Shergaon. The programme comprised of cultural and sports events. Participants included Mahila Samiti of Shergaon, students of local schools and all sections of local populace. During the three-day programme, stalls of various departments and local bodies were also set up, which included Textile & Handloom, Horticulture, Forest Dept., SSB Sandiksha (SHQ Bomdila), Shergaon Mahila Samiti, etc.
 Dedicated stalls of Medical Civic Action & Veterinary Civic Action were also set up which distributed free medicines to the local people.
On the final day,  Dr. Sonal Swaroop, Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng attended the programme as Chief Guest. The function was also attended by Raja Banthia, SP, West Kameng, Pem Chom Lama, Deputy Director, Industries, Bomdila, Dr. P.M Kabui, Comdt. (Med) 30th Bn, SSB, Dirang and local population of Shergaon.
