Tawang, Mar 10: National Immunization Day was observed today in Tawang district with 115 polio booths administering oral pulse polio drops to the children between 0-5 years of age group.
38th Bn of Sashastra Seema Bal(SSB) installed a polio booth at Old Market area where DC Tawang Sang Phuntsok, DMO Dr Wangdi Lama , DRCHO Dr. Lobsang Tempa along with officers and jawans of the armed force took part in the immunization programme.
The 305 FD Hospital of Indian Army also took active participation at Khirmu FD Hospital in the immunization programme. The immunisation team for interior and snow-bound areas like Mago, Lugu-Thang and Thik-shi villages were despatched one day ahead with all the necessary equipments to keep the vaccine safe, informed DRCHO Dr.Lobsang Tempa.
DMO said that according to the micro plan prepared by District Immunisation Cell, all-out efforts would be made to reach the target of immunizing 4860 children between 0-5 years of age in entire Tawang district. DIPRO
