AIZWAL Apr 18:  As a part of its tour to witness and see the infrastructure, facilities and sports avenues that could be replicated in Arunachal Pradesh, a delegation of Sports Authority of Arunachal led by its Chairman, Bamang Tago on Tuesday interacted with the officials of Mizoram State Sports Council and shared ideas on regulating and managing development of games and sports in North East region. 

“Sports have proved to be a powerful tool to create bonhomie, propagate peace and brotherhood between nations, states and people and contribute to economic and social growth, by improving public health & bringing youths together,” Tago opined.

Earlier the officials of Mizoram State Sports Council led by its Vice-President and Secretary extended warm welcome to the team and highlighted their efforts and achievements including maintaining transparency and accountability towards the promotion of sports. 

The study team also visited few indoor and outdoor infrastructure in an around the city.

In his visit, Tago also inaugurated the badminton coaching camp being launched by Mizoram Badminton Association under the theme “catch them young” at Kulikawn Indoor Stadium, Mizoram.   

Tago was accompanied by his Vice Chairman, G.Doke, Director Sports, Tadar Appa, Member Secretary, SAA, Gumnia Karbak and Assistant Director, Youth Affairs Karbia Dodum.
