Tezu, Jan 24: A day-long Special Outreach Programme on issues such as ban on Single Use Plastic (SUP), Swachhta Action Plan, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 180 days achievements of the second NDA Government was organized by the Tezu Unit of Field Outreach Bureau, Bureau of Outreach & Communication, Ministry of I&B, GoI today at Gohain Gaon village in Lohit district.
The programme began with a massive public rally comprising villagers, government officials, students and teachers. Headmaster, Government Upper Primary School, Gohain Gaon H.K. Gogoi as a Resource Person elaborated on the need for swachhta for ensuring health of an individual, family, society, village, town and ultimately the country as whole and requested the villagers to observe cleanliness and use dustbins. Another Resource Person Olom Ratan spoke on the adverse effects of SUP on human as well as nature and requested the participants to avoid it. FPO, Field Outreach Bureau, Tezu Unit P. Sonowal explained in details about the objectives of organizing the programme.
Patriotic song competition and rural sports competition involving students and village women were highlights of the programme where winners were awarded with attractive prizes by the FOB, Tezu Unit through the GB of Gohain Gaon Dig Bahadur Chetry and the Headmaster of GUPS. FOB, Tezu PR
