Itanagar, Aug 11: Acting on the direction of the Chief Justice (Acting), Gauhati High Court and Executive Chairman of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, a one day Special Lok Adalat was conducted on August 10 for disposal of petty cases pending in various courts of Arunachal Pradesh by various Legal Services Authorities under the supervision of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
Out of a total of 366 cases that were listed, 61 were disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs. 15,18,030. The aforesaid Lok Adalats were conducted by the District & Sessions Court, Bomdila, Addl.
District & Sessions Court, Basar, Court of Chief Judicial Magistrates of Yupia, Aalo, Ziro, Daporijo and Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class of Yupia, Yingkiong, Longding, Namsai and Changlang.
Similar such Lok Adalats were also held in Nagaland and Mizoram. The next Special Lok Adalat is scheduled to be held on August 24. Newsdesk
