Mechukha, Aug 16: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona on Friday while chairing a coordination meeting of HoDs of various government departments here at the Convention Centre at Baranggang called upon the officials of the newly created district of Shi-Yomi to work in unison for development.
While reminding of the shortcomings and challenges for officials posted in the new district, Sona urged them to overcome the same for the greater interest of Shi-Yomi. Stressing on proper planning for paving the way towards its development as a Model District, Speaker reiterated that contribution of each and every department is a must. To avoid future complications, he stressed that only after finalization of the detailed plan, construction of structures should be started, besides assuring all possible help from his side. However, he urged the officials especially HoDs not to leave their posting places. “Absence of government officers not only cause public inconvenience, but also hamper developmental activities undertaken by the government,” said Sona, while asking the officers to work with utmost sincerity.
Further, he urged them to go beyond duty schedule and serve society by visiting schools during free time and helping the needy students. Emphasizing on development of agriculture and horticulture in the district which he termed as ‘basis of sustainable development’, Speaker suggested the officers of the concerned departments to create awareness among farmers on trying cash crops backed by necessary guidance in this regard. Expressing serious concerned over rampant killing of wild animals especially endangered species in the district, he called upon the Forest Department to check such activities and the need for creating awareness among villagers.
Giving a clarion call to timely completion of government schemes without compromising quality, Speaker also listened to the HoDs who placed their grievances and issues confronting their departments in the district. Some of the concerns highlighted were absence of ministerial staff, staff quarter accommodation, renovation of office buildings, ambulance, water supply, shortage of subject teachers, issue of land acquisition etc.
Earlier, Shi-Yomi DC Mito Dirchi highlighted the roadmap for development while assuring to extend full support from the district administration. Stressing on the need for changing the working pattern, he requested every department for timely execution of their respective works. The meeting was attended by SP Shi-Yomi and ADC Mechukha.
The Speaker also visited the Community Health Centre, and Police Station here and took stock of the available infrastructures and requirements. Speaker Media Cell
