PASIGHAT, Aug 22: Rajiv Ranjan Singh (IPS) took over charge as Superintendent of Police of East Siang district from predecessor Prashant Gautam who has been transferred with new assignment as SP Security, Itanagar.
Hailing from Dhanbad, Jharkhand, Singh is a 2010 batch IPS officer. After serving in Delhi Police as DCP, Traffic (Hq) and as SP, Lakshadweep Police and MD, Lakshadweep Development Corporation in Lakshadweep, he was serving since March, 2019 as SP Kurung-Kumey. B.Tech in Electronics from IIT Kanpur, Singh earlier also served in Tata Steel for four years before induction to IPS.
After taking charge, the IPS officer in his first message asserted that offences committed against women would be "dealt with an iron hand." Maintenance of law and order, transparent working of police would be his priorities. On traffic regulations, the new SP opined that action would be taken to streamline and that all available resources would be utilized in maintaining safety, security, peace and tranquility in society, safeguarding the glory of the centurion town. Laying stress on crime prevention, he sought coordinated efforts from all stake holders in minimizing crime rate in the district. Singh urged the citizens of Pasighat to register their grievances fearlessly, adding that importance would be given to community policing bridging the gap between the police and civilians.
Meanwhile, Esha Pandey (IPS) on Thursday joined as Commandant of 5th IRBn at Pasighat.
Hailing from Lucknow, Pandey is MA (International Relations), M. Phil from JNU, She is also a 2010 batch IPS officer and previously served as DCP Traffic in Delhi. DIPRO
