ITANAGAR, May 15: Apex body of the Nyishi community, the Nyishi Elite Society (NES) has joined the state and union government in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic and till date has organized various sensitization programmes in state including the Assam-Arunachal border.
This was stated by the NES through a press release.   The society has also underscored that although the state is now enjoying the ‘Green Zone’ status, there are challenges to face regarding the state’s returnees comprising students, patients and others coming from different red and orange zones of the country. It has stressed on their compulsory testing and quarantine as per SOPs with utmost coordination among Nodal Officers in each entry gates, adding that the designated quarantine centres should be provided with fool-proof security.
Terming the negative propaganda on social media regarding the pandemic as unfortunate, NES has appealed all to refrain from this and underscored the need of mass support and cooperation in combating the dreadful disease. Its President while appealing the parents, guardians and relatives for a massive support, has reiterated the need for maintaining the preventive norms by all sections of the state’s people.
The Society has also extended gratitude to the state’s frontline Covid-19 warriors comprising the DAs, police, sanitation workers, medical and paramedical forces for their tireless efforts in making Arunachal a Green Zone. NES PR
