Aalo, Jul 30: The Aalo Town Peoples’ Welfare and Development Society apprised the Aalo East MLA Kento Jini of a wide range of issues concerning the welfare of the township in a get-together here at a tourist resort on July 27 last.
Responding to a memorandum submitted by the society on internal and external road condition, the MLA disclosed that the issue of Aalo-Likabali and Potin-Pangin roads has been raised by him in the Assembly with assurance from the Chief Minister of starting tender inviting process within a short time. The internal roads will be taken care in a phased manner and tangible works will be expected within five years, Jini said. He also assured to look into problems like Zonal Hospital status for General Hospital Aalo, fund for renovation of Power Substation at Yeggo, drawal of power from Siru Tali Hydel Project, Session Judge Court, ITBP land, Paramedical institution, conversion of PWD and Power Department Garages for parking places.
Aalo stadium construction work for which tender was floated 3 years back and drawing of water from Yomgo river for Aalo Township appeared prominently during discussion.
The stadium which was supposed to be completed by now is still without any ground level foundation and drawing of water from Yomgo River is expected to incur 1 crore monthly cost besides fear of flood threat and muddy water all throughout monsoon. Assurance to take up the twin issues with the government was also given by the MLA.
Keeping in view that heterogeneous people from various districts have settled permanently at Aalo, ATPWDS Chairman Kento Ete appealed the MLA to keep close rapport with other MLAs from Aalo West, 27th Liromoba and Shi-Yomi so that generous contributions flow in for the development of the township. Such funds placed by the MLAs for specific works can be utilised by the people without any hindrance, he opined. Advocate Minrik Noshi, ATPWDS Secretaries Kirdo Ete and Deba Loya also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
