TEZU, Apr 19: Renowned social activist and leader, Gofailum Kri passed away in a Dibrugarh hospital on Wednesday.

GK was popularly known by friends and community members owing to his selfless contribution to the development of community. He was among the founder members of Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmis (CALSOM) and All Mishmi Students Union (AMSU). He championed the cause of multipurpose cooperative society movement in the state and was awarded with awards for his services for the movement in state level.

While recalling his contribution to the society, member of Tamla LAMPS who attend the funeral function said that GK will be remembered for reviving the dying cooperative business and making it a vibrantly successful entity and his valuable contribution will give an inspiring story for the future generation too.

Well wishers DC Mamta Riba and Member APPSC Tsering Naksang also conveyed condolences to the family.

Minister, Dr Mohesh Chai, Minister, Lupalum Kri, DC, Anjaw, Danish Ashraf, DC, Tezu, Isaac Pertin, SP, Lohit, Kabang Lego, DSP were also present.
