Naharlagun, Feb 15: The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority organised a one day sensitization-cum-awareness programme on ‘Gender Harassment in Workplace’ at Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun on February14.
The programme was graced among others by Member Secretary, APSLSA, Budi Habung, Chairperson, Gender Harassment Committee, TRIHMS Gyatri Bora, Members, Gender Harassment Committee, TRIHMS Gumri Ringu and Dr. Nang Arati Namchoom Ete among others.
In her inaugural speech Gumri Ringu, briefed the insight of Gender Harassment Committee, TRIHMS. Budi Habung, spoke on the roles and responsibilities of the State Legal Services Authority in facilitating access to justice to all sections of society by providing free legal services through legal awareness programmes, lok adalats, etc.
Later in the technical session Sarah Wanglat delivered a talk on laws & procedures under sexual harassment in workplace. This was later followed by Jumgam Jini who highlighted the law on medical negligence in India.
The programme concluded with discussions and interactive sessions, wherein queries of the participants were cleared by the resource persons.
