ITANAGAR, Jan 24: A State Level Steering Committee (SLSC) meeting on Climate Change Adaptation headed by Chief Secretary, Satya Gopal was held today at CS conference Hall.
The meeting discussed on the submission of Project Concept Note (PCN) under National Adaptation Fund on Climate Change (NAFCC) with MoEF& CC, GoI at projected cost of Rs. 24.71 crore on climate change vulnerabilities and rejuvenation of spring sources of Papum and Poma rivers by the State Climate Change Cell under the Department of Environment & Forests.
The Project Proposal was approved by the SLSC as proposed for the total outlay with recommendation of Project execution cost @1% of total project cost. The SLSC further approved for Constitution of Committee for whole of Arunachal Pradesh in making plan and budgeting for treatment from ridge to valley, Technical ,Financial Assessment of suggested measures in Plan and to identify the recharge area under the chairmanship of PCCF (Environment & Climate Change) AK Shukla. The committee will comprise of Spl.Secy (Rural Development & PR), Chief Engineer (PHE), Chief Engineer (WRD), Director (AH & Very), Director (Agriculture) and Dy. Director (Env & CC) as its members.
This project proposal approved by the State Steering Committee is the first project in the State of its kind to be submitted under NAFCC scheme with Govt. of India. The meeting was attended by PCCF & HoFF,PCCF (Env & CC), Commissioner and Secretary of Seven line Deptts apart from Directors (Animal Husbandry & Vety) and Chief Engineer Water Resources Department.
