PASIGHAT, Mar 23: A 5-day Women Skill Development Workshop on Bead Jewellery was inaugurated today here at Engo Takar Hall by the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Kinny Singh.
The workshop which is being attended by 30 participants is organized by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre(NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Experts Yaham Borang and Yapong Jerang are imparting the training.
DC in her address encouraged women and Self Help Groups (SHGs) for availing such skill based training for economic empowerment. Convenor Kaling Borang, in his welcome address highlighted the objectives of the workshop.
District Art and Culture Officer (DACO) and Coordinator, Augusti Jamoh also advised the trainees to make most of the skills and intricate knowledge of beadmaking acquired from the workshop.
