ITANAGAR, Jul 4:The Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs (SJETA) announced to release the scholarship of both Pre & Post Matric students before the end July. This was informed to a team of All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union today when they called on the Commissioner SJETA, Gamli Padu.

On being apprised by the AAPSU earlier regarding the untimely disbursement of scholarship to the students, the Commissioner SJETA had conducted a meeting on July 3 which was attended by Prince Dawan, Secretary IT, Kinny Singh, Special Secretary, SJETA, Yumlum Kaha, Director SJETA and Banya Boje, PO (IT).

Interacting with the AAPSU team headed by its Vice President Protocol Dr. Tayuk Sonam and education secretary, Prem Tallang Comdir, Padu informed that the process of disbursement has been getting delayed due to technical problems. As the list of 13,000 applicants had been successfully registered online, it has to be verified by the IT department to check the duplicacy. And from the next academic year (2018-2019), the applicant has to fill up their respective forms through online under the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) only, it was informed.

Following the discussion, the apex student body has appealed students to remain patient and calm.

We are thankful to the authority for the quick response. However, AAPSU will not remain silent if the concern authority fails to disburse the scholarship amount within the timeline, said the union in a press statement today.
