ITANAGAR, Oct 31:  The 72 hour sit-in dharna by hundreds of deprived compassionate ground candidates of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) ended today without any positive outcome.
At least 183 candidates were on a sit-in protest since October 29 last against the state government for its lackadaisical attitude toward the deprived candidates. “No one from the police department nor government side came to visit us in the last three days,” lamented a candidate.
He further informed that deprived candidates will hold a meeting on their further course of action against the concerned department for playing with the emotion of the deprived candidates.
“Our family members had sacrificed for the department then why is the authority ignoring the aggrieved  family members,” lamented a widow.
Agitating candidates and their families are demanding immediate absorption of 183 candidates in the ongoing recruitment process on compassionate ground.
Meanwhile, the district administration has granted permission to conduct peaceful rally from Ganga to Tennis Court, Itanagar on November 1 and another 72 hours sit-in protest at the same venue from November 1-3. However, the DA has strictly instructed agitators not to launch hunger strike.
