PASIGHAT, Mar 5: Dr. Sachin Kumar Singhal, IPS is the new superintendent of police (SP) of East Siang district. He took the charge from outgoing SP Sumit Kumar Jha, IPS, who has been transferred to Kra Daadi district.
Hailing from Delhi, Dr. Singhal is a doctor (MBBS) by profession and inducted to IPS in 2017. After serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) in Delhi, he also served in Arunachal Pradesh including thirteen months in Ziro as SP and in Itanagar as SP (Traffic).
After assuming charge, Singhal said offences against women would be dealt with iron hand safeguarding the glory of the centurion town, Pasighat. He also assured that he would give priority to maintaining law and order, besides ensuring transparency in the police department.“All available resources would be utilized in maintaining safety, security, peace and tranquility in the society,” Singhal stated and sought cooperation from all stakeholders to deter crimes and criminals.
The new SP while interacting with the police officers in his office chamber today informed that he would visit all police stations of the district soon. Singhal urged the residents to register their grievances fearlessly, adding that priority would also be given to community policing to bridge the gap between the police and the civilians.
Meanwhile, the officers of East Siang bade farewell to the outgoing SP Sumit Kumar Jha and extended their gratitude for Jha’s friendly attitude with humble nature, leadership and hard work he shown during his short tenure at Pasighat.
