NAHARLAGUN, Mar 17:

Parliamentary Secretary Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Laisam Simai addressing the public at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium appealed them to ask for cash memo and check the MRP and other details while purchasing items terming it the best way to know about the right of consumers.

He was addressing the valedictory function and prize distribution programme of the 3rd edition of Itanagar Mini Marathon which was flagged off from Indira Gandhi Park to Rajiv Gandhi Stadium this morning.

Simai said that our cautious and alertness will help us in getting the quality and right product from the market. ‘In case if there is any discrepancy then cash memo may help the consumer to file a case in the consumer court which is available for protection of rights of consumers,’ he said.

In men’s category Karbu Kena, Bamo Tanang, Bina Kayi came first, second and third respectively. In the Women’s category Yabang Tali, Soni Nalo and Obur Sibo won the first, second and third respectively. All winners received cash awards including trophy and certificates.

Five consolation prizes were also given in both categories.

Few small children and older person were also given away with prizes.

Controller of Legal Metrology Hoksum Ori, Assistant Controller Taba Tabin among others addressed the gathering.
