DEOMALI, Jan 22: Sports lovers of Tirap District as well as well wishers and relatives accorded warm reception to Silver Medallist Kamdon Boi. Boi won Silver Medal in the 66kg weight category, under-21 Boys in Judo at the Khelo-India-Khelo Youth Games held at Guwahati recently.
A native of Turet village under Deomali Administrative circle, Boi praised his Judo Master Yum Pangkhu, Judo Coach, Tirap District for encouraging him from day one.
Coach Pangkhu who is also the President of Tirap District Judo Association, congratulated the medallist for bringing laurels to the state. He further appealed the youths of Tirap to shun bad habits like drugs and alcohol and instead divert minds towards games & sports and studies to become good citizens.
‘Kamdon Boi has set an example in the field of games & sports which needs to be emulated by the youths of Tirap District,’ he said.
Earlier, the Chief of Turet village, Wanghing Songthing felicitated the player. DIPRO
