JULLY, Feb 17: One of the shortest route from Itanagar to Jully was inaugurated here today by the local MLA Techi Kaso in presence of a mammoth gathering.

Addressing the gathering at ESS Sector after inspecting the stretch of road along with local BJP leaders and officers of PWD and local residents, Kaso said that the said stretch would be one of the shortest route to reach Jully.

It would also be beneficial for those living in the vicinity of ESS Sector to directly reach Jully and from there to Chimpu or Naharlagun without touching Ganga, saving time and distance as well. Though the road is under construction and final completion would take some time, department and government would be pursued for its smooth completion, Kaso said. He informed that the road was approved under SADA having a budget of rupees two crore and is being executed by the PWD Capital Division B. He also urged the people to maintain it as their own property.

City BJP President Tarh Soping, programme organising  committee chairman Karsang Tallar, overall in-charge Margang Tapo were among others who addressed the gathering.

The new stretch of road covering a distance of 1.5 km though motorable with drainage system provision, will take some time for its completion in all respects.

The gathering also paid tribute to the martyrs those who laid their lives in the recent terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir  and stood for a two-minute silence for the peace of the  departed souls.
