ITANAGAR, Sep 25: Free wi-fi was launched today at Akashdeep Complex by the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan amidst government officials, members of the business community and Itanagar Market Welfare Association. Each device would be provided up to 2 GB per day after which there would be charges for the same.Hoping that traders would now find it more convenient to make digital payments, the DC informed that two networks have been provided one for the traders (DA ICC -Traders) for regular use and the other for public ( DA ICC- Public) and the coverage area of wi-fi network start from Nirvachan Bhawan to RKM post office.

The DC also distributed biometric device to shopkeepers for transaction through Aadhaar linked payments.

During, the event, the Director IT also signed an MoU with Vodafone, the network provider.

Goter Duchi, Project Officer from IT Department through a video explained in detail about the step wise process of registration for wi-fi. He also informed that any device registered in the public wi-fi is MAC id binded. The activities of each device can be tracked and monitored by the network administrator of the IT &C Department.
