ITANAGAR, Jan 31: A 10-year old minor girl reported to be sexually abused was rescued from Kimin on January 29, jointly by Childline Itanagar, the DCPU Yupia and the police, Papum Pare district.
The rescue exercise was initiated after receipt of a call over Childline toll free number 1098 by the Child Line Coordinator. After rescuing the child, the team produced her before the Child Welfare Committee, Itanagar Capital Complex and accordingly, the victim has been provided shelter and a case was registered against the alleged accused.
The child stated that the accused called her to his home and raped her on January 27 when nobody was present. The rescue team comprised the Childline Coordinator L Elizabeth and her team, Legal-cum-Probation Officer Tarh Nagu, Protection Officer Techi Ayum and police personnel. PRO Childline
