NAMSAI, Feb 26: Seven shops including grocery, electronic, cosmetic were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in the wee hours of Wednesday at Namsai old bazaar area. No casualties have been reported but properties worth crores have been lost in the inferno. As soon as the team received the information, fire tender rushed to the spot and controlled the fire from spreading further, informed In-charge Namsai Fire & Emergency Service Department, Promod Kumar Sharma. Reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained, however, as per preliminary report short circuit could be the probable reason, added the official.
