PASIGHAT, Dec 5: At least seven kutcha houses were gutted in a major fire accident that occurred in the wee hours on Wednesday night at Tebo village, in Pasighat GTC area.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong along with Mondal President visited the fire ravaged Tebo village. He announced admissible amount from the district administration as immediate relief for the fire victims and directed for submission of loss assessment at the earliest so that the affected people who have been rendered homeless at this time of winter can be helped. He advised the dwellers to take utmost care of electrical wiring and try to keep inflammable items like candle, stove, LPG etc to avoid unwanted situation. They should take collective responsibility ensuring that such incidents are not repeated in future, added Moyong.
DC Dr. Kinny Singh has urged the people to remain alert to avert any such unfortunate incidents by observing all possible safety and preventive measures particularly at this vulnerable time of dry winter period and windy conditions of the area.
The root cause of the fire accident is yet to be ascertained and investigation is underway. DIPRO
