ITANAGAR, Jan 16: State empowered programme committee (SEPC) meeting for approval of annual programme implementation plan (APIP) under Anganwadi Services Scheme for the year 2019-20 headed by Chief Secretary Satya Gopal was held at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.
Taking stock of the APIP presented by Director WCD, Tokmem Pertin Loyi, he emphasised on proper monitoring and evaluation of all the schemes that are being implemented by the Department in the State. He termed the Anganwadi Services as a very important sector.
Referring to the deputy directors, child development project officers, anganwadi workers, anganwadi helpers and other staff under the Anganwadi Services, he stated that they have a huge responsibility to play for holistic development of child and women at the grassroots level.
While reviewing the programmes that are being implemented under the department like supplementary nutrition programme, information education and communication activities, preschool education kit, medicine kit etc, the Chief Secretary pointed out that the officials and officers should execute their duties and responsibilities with utmost dedication which they have been entrusted with, i.e, to lay the foundation for proper psychological, physical and social development of a child, and giving proper nutrition and health education to mothers to look after their own health and their offspring.
He further asked the Department to participate in the Sarkar Apke Dwar with full enthusiasm and disseminate the programmes and policies to the people of the State.
Total Rs. 22581.89 (in Lakhs) APIP for Anganwadi Services for 2019-20 was approved by the SEPC with Rs 17796.50 (in Lakhs) as Central Share.
Commissioner Health Dr. AC Verma, Commissioner WCD Gamli Padu, PHED Commissioner Marnya Ete, Secretary RD Tsering Tashi were also present in the meeting.
