SEPPA, Nov 20: Consumer Rights Organization- East Kameng District Unit (CRO-EK) supported by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs Food and Distribution, Government of India organized its first-ever Seminar cum awareness meeting on Consumer Rights & Responsibilities, CPA, MRP, and Consumer Grievances at Government Higher Secondary School Bazar line here.
Addressing the students and public, the president CRO- EK Beku Dolo informed that the main objective of the seminar program is to create awareness about consumer rights and to stop the black marketing & malpractices that is being practiced by few shopkeepers in the district.
SP, Seppa Piyush Fulzele while appreciating the CRO-EK unit for organizing such awareness programs in the district suggested students to become role models as they are the future of the district.
He also assured the CRO team to provide all kinds of manpower from his department for consumer welfare. There should not be any kind of injustice and malpractices in respect to consumer affairs, he added.
State President CRO Achu Bagang highlighted the eight rights which the Indian constitution has given to every consumer in regards to consumer affairs, wherein no shopkeeper can deceive them if they know their rights.
