PASIGHAT, Oct 18: A seminar on the theme ‘National Security & its Challenges’ was held today here at the Conference Hall, Upper Campus of JNC with the objective to create awareness among the youths in particular and citizens in general on national security. 
Attended by the students and faculty members among others, the outreach programme was organized by the NGO, Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS), which pursues its objective of spreading awareness on national security. President, FANS, Lt.Gen (Retd), Dr. Raj Nandan Singh, PVSM, AVSM dwelt on the role of local populace in safeguarding the country while referring to raising of Arunachal Scouts as a step in that direction. Highlighting the security scenario of the country, he added that awareness of citizens can contribute to the protection of both internal and external security and for maintaining and promoting peace and progress.  Chief Guest, Vice-Principal, J.N. College, Dr. S.D. Choudhary also dwelt on the various facets challenging the national security like fake currencies and others.
Earlier, National General Secretary (Organisation), FANS, Golok Bihari Rai spoke of India’s growing stature in the global scenario. Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, JNC, Dr. Narang Tari also spoke on the occasion. DIPRO
