WAKRO, Aug 31: In a joint operation  Wakro Police and  20- Madras Regiment, Indian Army of Chowkham has arrested one Self -Style Sgt Major  Kalinjoy Chakma alias  Bangalo Chakma of Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) from Kathan/ Diba, Lohit district in the wee hours of Friday last.
Acting on a tip-off, the team of police and Indian Army team led by Inspector Thomas Pertin, OC PS Wakro, Head Constable  C.S.Pangyok, 2nd AAPBn, (HC)A.K.Mall, 2nd AAPBn, S.Mossang (CT), APP under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Lohit  Dr. DW Thungon arrested the cadre. Kalinjoy is a resident of Budisotta No-I village, Miao, District Changlang .
During the operation, the team recovered one improvised .22 rifle, 2 explosives with a detonator, 5 numbers AK 47 live rounds, 3 numbers point 22 rounds, 3 Tola kani (opium) and  3 mobile handsets.
The arrested accused was also wanted in connection with four cases registered at Wakro in connection with a series of extortion, robbery, arson and Arms Act in Kathan area.
Earlier the police had also arrested his two accomplices Sanjay Chakma and Bikla Chakma in connection with the same cases and at present both of them are in judicial custody at District Jail, Tezu, informed SP.
