Basar, Apr 8: The District Liquor Monitoring Team in compliance with the Model Code of Conduct for simultaneous elections has seized 172.5 bulk litres of  beer and 49.65 bulk litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from various places of Leparada district.
The team was headed by Tori Zirdo and on April 7 after obtaining pre-trial destruction order from the Executive Magistrate, the entire quantities of seized liquor were destroyed in presence of the Executive Magistrate Hento Karga, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Basar, media and public.
As per relevant government notification the District Nodal Officer (Excise) is required to destroy the seized liquor after obtaining pre-trial destruction order from the jurisdictional Executive Magistrate. DIPRO
