ITANAGAR, Nov 6: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer organised an Awareness and Live Demonstration on EVM and VVPAT with all media personnel today in the Nirvachan Bhawan, Itanagar. The Chief Electoral Officer Kaling Tayeng IAS, addressed the media persons and spoke in detail about the basic aims and objectives of the awareness programme. Tayeng stated that since the general election is due in 2019 as per normal schedule and the state election commission is ready and well equipped with all election machineries, equipment and materials; the media plays an important role for further dissemination of information to the public, voters in particular about the latest and new system of EVM and VVPAT and appealed them to make awareness among the public through print and electronic media.
Earlier Liken Koyu  Dy. CEO extended welcome address to one and all while Lijum Ete, Nodal officer, EVM explained all about the latest position and information about EVM and VVPAT through powerpoint presentation and also proposed vote of thanks at the end. Around twenty media persons attended the awareness and live demonstration programme.
