KHONSA, Jun 18:In order to make Tirap district self sufficient in fish seed production, a series of scientific induced fish breeding operation was carried out today by a team led by DFDO, PC Bhattacharyya at government fish seed farm, Deomali.

Earlier the team carried out the first round of seed production on June 1 last  in which 10 lakhs fish spawn of Indian Major Carps (IMC) namely Catla, Rohu, Mrigal were successfully produced in Chinese Eco-Circular Hatchery.  

The second round was also successful with induced breeding operation carried out on June 11 where in around 30 lakhs of IMC spawn were produced.  The healthy fish seeds will be available for sale in the farm at nominal rate for progressive fish farmers.
