ITANAGAR, Sep 29: A state-level Science Drama Competition on the theme “science & society” was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology, wherein students from at least 10 schools from the Capital Complex participated.
The competition aimed at highlighting the emerging issues of modern times such as environmental degradation, clean energy, digital technology and cleanliness and sanitation.
Abhijit Kr Varma (VKV Nirjuli) clinched the best director and Best Script Writer award went to Atum Muang (VKV, Itanagar). Shuken Bui (Delhi Public School, Itanagar) was given Best Actor award and Rimee Tilling Bamin received the best actress award.
Meanwhile, the Auxilium Secondary School bagged the First Prize in school wise category and will represent the state in the regional level Science Drama Competition which will be held at Guwahati. Government higher secondary school Arunodaya, Itanagar, and Delhi Public School, Itanagar were adjudged second and third position and was awarded a cash prize with trophy and certificates.
Earlier, chief guest for the event APSCST, Bamang Mangha underscored the importance of science and technology in these modern days and encouraged the students to take up creative activities like drama which will in turn immensely help them to develop their personality.
APSCST, Deputy Director, P Lombi, IPR assistant director Radhe Tajung and Arunachal Press Club, General Secretary Tanom Jerang were the judges of the competition.
