Roing, Oct 21: A 7-day Community Awareness/School Safety Programme with special focus on earthquake, flood and fire safety measures concluded today here at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
Demonstration of safety tips on fire, flood, landslide & earthquake and pamphlets distribution were parts of the programme. DDMO appealed the participants to take full benefit of the demonstrations and learn safety tips. He also appealed the school authorities to install school safety equipment like fire extinguishers, sand buckets etc and prepare comprehensive School Disaster Management Plans. DDMO further appealed the students to use minimum number of crackers in the upcoming Dipawali festival to avoid fire accidents and air pollution.
The week-long programme started on October 14 at Government Secondary School, Dambuk which was participated by around 2500 students, GBs, SMCs, villagers and officials from the Education Department. DIPRO
