BASAR, Nov 6: The 2nd Jarbom Gamlin State Level Boxing Championship 2019 concluded on November 4 last with Sports Authority of India (SAI) taking away the sub-junior boy’s title and Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) taking sub-junior girls’s title.
The junior boy’s category was lifted by SAI while the junior girl’s title by Kra Daadi. The best boxer in sub-junior boys and girls was given to Lokum Kamda of SLSA and Gora Yalung of SAI respectively. Meanwhile, the title of best boxer in junior boy’s and girl’s was taken by Tadar Tagar of Kurung Kumey and Tai Tutu of Kra Daadi respectively.
A total of 192 participants from over 13 districts of the state took part in the championship.
The contest was organized by Leparada Amateur Boxing Association (LABA) under the aegis of Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association at Town Hall, Basar.
Local MLA Gokar Basar who was present as the chief guest of the finale said, “Though, the championship was held in a temporary boxing ring made exclusively for the said event, Basar will soon have a permanent building for the district boxers to come, get trained and make a career out of it.”
Emphasizing that sports sector in Arunachal is the next big thing in terms of career, Gokar appealed everyone especially, youths to take the opportunity seriously and work hard.
