NEW DELHI, Apr 6:Chairman, Sports Authority of Arunachal Bamang Tago called on DDG, Sports Authority of India (SAI) Sandeep Pradhan at New Delhi today and apprised him about the need for consideration of schemes submitted by the Arunachal government for development of various sports infrastructure.

During the meeting, Tago stated that the frontier state is long overdue to avail fund for construction of national standard infrastructure of any disciplines from Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI even after 71 years of India’s Independence.

‘Despite absence of standard infrastructure, youths from Arunachal have proved their talent and brought many laurels for the country and state in many events. Moreover, many National Sports Federation has refused to host their national events in Arunachal due to non availability of infrastructure,’ Tago disclosed.

Meanwhile, after patient hearing, the officials of SAI has appreciated the state government for proposing numerous  projects under Khelo India scheme, and assured to support project like  “District level Sports School” a newly designed project under Khelo India as well as assured to adopt Sangey Lhaden Sports School, Chimpu till permanent District level Sports School  comes up.
