PASIGHAT, Jun 19: Deputy Commissioner East Siang, Dr. Kinny Singh, in her daily briefing on Covid-19 status informed that all RTPCR test reports from the primary contacts of the two positive frontline workers have come negative adding that 'till now we have been successful in chasing away the virus.'
Urging the people of East Siang to fight discrimination and social stigma, she said 'This is the time for us to encourage and support those in quarantine and those in Covid Care.'
The DC said utmost measures have been taken for the safety and welfare of frontline workers adding that a new SOP has been formed under the charge of Nodal Officer (Quarantine) & EAC, Jayanti Pertin. Workshops by resource persons being held for frontline workers on safety procedures before joining quarantine facilities in addition to the earlier briefings which was already in place. Besides, the frontline workers from the health department, other staff in quarantine facilities will also be provided separate accommodation.
The frontline workers will work batch wise for six to seven days and be relieved by the next batch. After completion of their respective duties, all have to undergo compulsory swab testing for Covid-19.
The special welfare committee headed by EAC, Koj Yabyang is already looking into the measures being provided by the various in-charges. “I salute the spirit of all frontline workers of East Siang working in various capacities, in the service of society.
