ITANAGAR, Oct 12: Maharastra based political party, Republican Party of India (Athwale) is all set to spread its wings in Arunachal Pradesh. Newly appointed state President of RPI (A) Momgol Yomso said that the party will put up at least 56 candidates in the coming assembly election  and in  both Lok Sabha seats.
Speaking to reporters here today, Yomso said, ‘the ideology of the RPI is to work for the downtrodden people formed by the great Dalit leader Dr.  Bhim Rao Ambedkar in 1957. RPI stands for people friendly government and to abolish money culture in the election process.”
While claiming involvement of money culture in election process as one of the main reasons for absence of good leaders in the state, RPI state unit president said, ‘it is the legacy of Arunachal Pradesh and other national political parties that they confer party tickets only to those who have huge bank balance . Time has come to change our mindset and to choose a party, which believes in people friendly government for socio-economic development of the state and its people”.
RPI (A) has only a single elected member in Rajya Sabha, Ramdas Athawale who is a minister of state in the Narendra Modi ministry.
