BARIRIJO/DAPORIJO, Apr 6:Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju has appealed to the people of Upper Subansiri District to cooperate with the government and district administration to ensure all projects initiated to improve connectivity and development of the area are completed timely.

Referring to Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) project from Potin-Pangin which got delayed due to lack of support from the public, Rijiju asserted that people can witness accelerated growth and development  when they give their full support to the government in development works.

Seeking people's active participation and cooperation, Rijiju however asserted that government will re-tender the TAH projects in 9 different packages for 407 KM stretch, which will be done very soon.

He stated this while addressing the public during the Mopin Festival that commenced on Thursday at Baririjo under Upper Subansiri District.

Underlining that traditional norms and customs are the roots of tribal people, Rijiju observed that celebrating festival gives not only a sense of belonging, but also helps to maintain one’s identity and urged all to protect and preserve the rich valued culture and traditions.

Also in response to few demands raised by the locals, Rijiju announced to complete carpeting of road measuring 13 KM at Maro, a memorial gate after late AT Kulo and assured to connect remote Taksing area with roads.

In his three day tour to the Galo inhabited areas, Rijiju attended series of Mopin celebrations at Kamba in West Siang on April 4, then Tirbin in Lower Siang the next day and concluded his tour after attending two programs at Maro and Baririjo under Daporijo today.

Dumporijo MLA Paknga Bage, DC Upper Subansiri, Danish Ashraf and SP Taru Gusar attended as special guest and several HoDs, PRI members, GBs and locals were also present.
