LIKABALI, May 3:Joining hand with the rest of nation, West Siang and Lower Siang District organised Kisan Kalyan Karyasala under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan with much enthusiasm and great zeal
A programme was organised at Likabali Block, Lower Siang District in which Minister of state for Home Kiren Rijiju graced the occasion as Chief Guest while local MLA Kardo Nyicyor as Guest of Honour.
Addressing a mammoth gathering, Rijiju advised the farmers to avail benefits from the various schemes under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, launched by Govt. of India to boost rural economy and their income by scientific means and technologies imparted through line departments. He further informed that GoI has prepared road map with holistic approach to attain doubling of farmers income by 2022 with many flagship programmes.
On the occasion 10 progressive farmers under Likabali Block were felicitated with certificate and award in recognition of their excellent activities in the field of Agriculture and allied sectors.
Similar programmes were held at Aalo and Tirbin.
