Itanagar, Aug 16: The 204th birthday of Don Bosco, the Friend of Youth, was celebrated by Don Bosco Alumni and Childline, Don Bosco Youth Centre, here at capital with a ride against child labour by Arunachal Bullet Club and The Gliding Piranhas along with holding of graduation ceremony of DBYC skill trainees.
The programme organized at DBYC, Vivek Vihar by Don Bosco Alumni and Childline, DBYC, Itanagar was attended by Minister, RWD Honchun Ngandam as Chief Guest and Director, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Subu Tabin as Guest of Honour. The Minister while speaking on the significance of the day acknowledged his respect for Don Bosco for bringing education even in the far flung districts of the Northeast and the country in general. Speaking at length about child labour, he opined that it is not only illegal, but a sin and everyone should be aware of this malaise. He also congratulated Arunachal Bullet Club and The Gliding Piranhas for joining hands with Childline and DBYC for the noble cause of raising awareness regarding abolition of child labour. 
Director Skill Development and Entrepreneurship congratulated DBYC for the commendable work it had done for the youth of the state and gave details of placements, besides suggesting to pay special attention to the Tirap, Changland and Longding districts. Director, Don Bosco College Fr. C. C. Jose congratulated DBYC for constantly providing 100% placement for skill trainees and the Childline for promoting the cause of children in distress. Fr. Kamil Horo, Parish Priest of Catholic Church, Itanagar, Chief Engineer Kago Tabiyo    spoke on the occasion along with rakshabandhan  carried out by the Brahmakumaris.   
All the 26 skill trainees who have qualified for placement will be leaving for Kerala where they will take up jobs in Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service and Front Office Management in four star and five star category resorts. Meanwhile, DBYC is gearing towards welcoming the new batch of trainees on September 1 next. Don Bosco Alumni PR
