RONO HILLS, Jun 11: A one-day webinar titled ‘Prospect of Research & Innovation in Science: A Post Covid-19 Pandemic Outlook’ was organised jointly by the Departments of Physics & Chemistry of Rajiv Gandhi University here on June 10 last.
The webinar was participated by more than 300 students, researchers, academicians and scientists from all over India which was streamed live on YouTube. 
RGU VC and chief patron of the webinar Professor Saket Kushwaha emphasized on the importance of continuing the struggle against the challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic. Chief Guest, Padmashree Manas Bihari Verma, the former Programme Director and brain behind the indigenously built TEJAS light combat aircraft currently being used by the IAF cautioned against the violation of laws of Nature and drew attention towards the importance of sustainable use of natural resources and development of eco-friendly processes through research and innovation. Guest of Honour, VC of Central University of Gujarat Professor Rama Shankar Dubey discussed the challenges and possibilities in dealing with the pandemic. 
During the technical session, professors from IIT-Guwahati, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, University of Rajasthan, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Amity University, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) and RGU interacted with the participants.
RGU’s Acting Registrar Professor Tomo Riba recalled the series of webinars, e-FDP, online STC, online Orientation Course, etc. being conducted by the university during the lockdown. Joint Registrar (Academic & Conference) Dr. David Pertin said the university has been contributing to the field of e-learning & research through online mode nationally and internationally and more such activities are in the offing. He further informed that the participants had contributed a sum of Rs. 10,000 towards the PM Cares Fund. 
Head In-charge of RGU’s Sociology department Bikash Bage and Dr. Yana Bagbi from Jawaharlal Nehru College Pasighat participated in the webinar. Head, Department of Physics and the webinar’s convener Professor Sanjeev Kumar and Head, Department of Chemistry and co-convener Dr. Rajesh Chakrabarty also spoke on the occasion. RGU PR
