RONO HILLS, Feb 2: The Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) will be celebrating its 37th foundation anniversary here at its campus from February 3-4.
Former Chief Minister Gegong Apang will attend as the chief guest on February 3 and inaugurate the newly constructed academic building of the physics department.
Governor Brig. (Dr) B.D Mishra and Chief Rector of the university will grace the second-day function as Chief Guest. In addition, Prof. G.C Tripathi, chairman, Higher Education, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and former VC, BHU will deliver the foundation anniversary address on the topic ‘Role of Education in Nation Building’. The Governor will also give away the awards for exceptional achievement by university students at the valedictory function. Essay writing, volleyball, football, marathon and other literary and athletics competitions will be also organized to mark the foundation anniversary, a release from RGU stated.
