Rono Hills, Oct 22: Rajiv Gandhi University entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with Brno University of Technology, Brno, Jihomoravskykraj of Czech Republic for collaborative researches in scientific areas of natural, engineering and technical sciences.
As a part of the MoU there will also be research and exchange programmes of faculty and students in an academically mutually benefitting way. It was signed by the Registrar in-charge of RGU Professor Tomo Riba and Rector of Brno University of Technology, Professor Petr Stepanek, in presence of RGU Vice-Chancellor Professor Saket Kushwaha. Dean Faculty of Basic Sciences Professor PK Kalita and Head, Department of Physics Professor Sanjeev Kumar were the witnesses. Dr. Karel Katovsky and Dr. Jindrich Adam, both from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering, Brno University of Technology also signed the document as witnesses. The MOU aims at providing new avenues for access, sharing and developing technical knowhow between the two varsities initially for the next five years. RGU VC termed it historic and a welcome step towards achieving academic heights on mutually benefitting parameters. Joint Registrar (Academic) Dr. David Pertin mentioned that the joint venture will be academically very viable especially in terms of exchange avenues for students, academic fraternity and researchers alike.
