Rono Hills, Mar 1: The Rajiv Gandhi University community today mourned the demise of former Registrar of the erstwhile Arunachal University, Dr Jogendra Nath. 
Dr. Jogendra Nath was the second person to serve RGU as Registrar. The tenure of his office as Registrar was from the 6th of May 1988 to the 4th of May 1991. Also a reputed author, he was the recipient of the prestigious Luminous Lummer Dai Award. He has written dozens of books to his credit, including ‘Young Panther’, a biography of former chief minister Gegong Apang. 
The condolence meeting was attended by all the Statutory Officers, Deans of Faculties, Directors/Heads of the Departments/Institutes, Coordinators, faculty members, other Officers and non-teaching employees of the University. The meeting observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. The meeting also prayed the Almighty to provide enough strength to the members of the bereaved family to overcome their profound grief and sorrow. Dr. Jogendra Nath is survived by one daughter, Dr. Mompi Nath, MBBS, MD and one son,  Chingkop Nath, MBA. It is also to state that the wife of Dr. Nath (Mrs. Madhabi Nath) breathed her last in 2017.
Prof. Saket Kushwaha, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Otem Padung, the Registrar and other members paid tribute to him on the occasion. Dr. Nath will always be remembered as a down-to-earth and amiable personality who always tried to meet people and employees of all categories and tried to gather feedback from them for the overall development of the University.  
The University places on record the valuable service rendered by Dr. Jogendra Nath as Registrar of this prestigious institution of higher learning in Arunachal Pradesh. 
As a mark of respect and remembrance to Dr. J. Nath, the University remained closed for the rest of the day.
