RONO HILLS, May 16: Rajiv Gandhi University, which recently clinched a place among the top 100 universities of the country, has introduced the system of online admission procedures for all its courses.
As per its press release, applications for the two entrance examinations namely RGUMPET-2019 and RGUCET-2019 can be made online through https://rgucet2019.in and are currently open. RGUCET-2019 will be conducted from June 15-21 and RGUMPET-2019 dates are June 11 & 12.
RGU’s Joint Registrar (Academic) Dr. David Pertin informed that online admission portal of RGU was made live on May 9 and more than 2000 applicants have registered till the evening of May 16. He further informed that candidates who are appearing in final semester/year examinations of any qualifying degrees are also eligible to apply and take the entrance exams.
University is introducing MA programmes in Defense and Strategic studies under its newly opened Department of National Security Studies and MA in Tribal Studies through its Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies with 16 seats each. From this year RGU has joined the rest of the central universities by adopting the central government directives to create 10 percent seats over and above the actual total seats in each programme exclusively for candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category in Diploma, Bachelors and Post Graduate courses.
RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha, has expressed confidence for success of this new venture. Registrar in-charge Professor Tomo Riba said that the university has all the potentialities despite its locational remoteness and bottlenecks. Joint Registrar (Academic) Dr. David Pertin who is also the convener of the entrance exam related committees further informed that a 6-member technical committee has also been formed in this regard.
