ZIRO, May 11:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its state executive meeting today adopted the resolution for creation of separate Arunachal cadre of All India Services Officers (IAS/ IPS/IFS/ IRS).

“It has been the experience of the State that a major bottleneck faced in the development of the state was the lack of a dedicated higher bureaucracy,” said Chief Minister Pema Khandu while political resolution was being debated. In the last Legislative Assembly Session (March 2018), a resolution was unanimously passed to move the Government of India for creation of a separate cadre for Arunachal Pradesh.

Further, Khandu reminded that with the conferment of statehood, transfer of all powers due to a state for full fledged functioning was accorded. However, the senior bureaucracy (All India Services- IAS/IPS/IFS) of the Union Territory, which holds the key in taking up the administration, continued to function in the State. With small tenures, the Officers of the UT cadre, despite best intentions, could not do justice to their work, as they would be transferred to other segments of the Cadre.

Earlier in the day, in his Presidential speech at the two day State Executive Meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party, State President Tapir Gao said,  “As you are the karyakartas of the largest political party in the world, you should work for the overall development. Your dedication and devotion should be like Abhimanyu from the Mahabharata, who fought his way to the centre of the Chakravyuh but didn’t know to come out likewise once you have come into the party you should forget to leave. And also you should do your part for the party without being told to or without any portfolio. In our party, we do not think about our own development first, if you have joined the party for gaining personal gains then this is not the party to be in.”

Gao also clearly stated that party tickets for the election will be decided by a committee and not by any individual. “It’s against our party ideology and principles and also if you think that you can get party tickets for elections then let me make the record straight that no individual has the authority to decide the tickets as we have an election committee and parliamentary board that decides who needs to be elevated depending on their work towards the party,” he said.

Gao complimented the Pema Khandu government for its cabinet decision to route all the developmental schemes through the district development committee led by district Deputy Commissioner.

The day saw Economic Resolution and Political resolution being adopted.

The Economic Resolution was moved by DCM Chowna Mein, who highlighted the joint effort of Team Arunachal to achieve a record breaking GST collection, which was seconded by Parliamentary Secretary Tourism PD Sona, and the Political Resolution was moved by Minister for PHE & Water Supply, Bamang Felix, highlighted the determination of Team Arunachal to curb all corruption starting with handing over of the infamous PDS scam to the CBI which was seconded by Parliamentary Secretary Laisam Simai.

Addressing the delegates, Organizational In-charge for North East, Ajay Jamwal, said that BJP is a familiar party not a family party and urged the party karyakartas to work effortlessly for the party.
