ITANAGAR, Jul 9: Tumnya Karbak, the renowned social activist of West Siang district and father of Nyamar Karbak, the 27-Liromoba Assembly Constituency MLA breathed his last in the wee hours on Thursday at the Kamba ADC HQ after a brief illness.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu conveyed his condolence through a letter addressed to his son. Praying to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul, CM wrote: “In this moment of grief, me, my family, colleagues in the government and the people of Arunachal Pradesh extend our solidarity with you and share the pain inflicted on you and your family by one of the greatest truths of life.”
The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) while mourning the untimely demise of the renowned social activist has extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
The late social activist will be particularly remembered as a great orator with an enriched knowledge of local customary laws and was popular among people for his soft-spoken, kind-hearted and humble nature and numerous philanthropic works. “The Galo society in particular and the state in general have lost a renowned social activist and good human being and the vacuum created by his demise cannot be filled again,” GWS’s press release read.
