ITANAGAR, Sep 15:

Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso and DC Capital Prince Dhawan today distributed relief materials like blankets, utensils and food items etc to the victims whose houses were totally washed away or damaged by Friday’sheavy rainfall at Modirijo.

Kaso appealed the denizens to remain alert as Friday’s incident was an eye opener for all. So many incidents in a single night was witnessed for the first time in 40-45 years, he said and urged people to refrain from building houses in vulnerable areas and to shift to safer locations.

The DC also urged people to refrain from residing in vulnerable areas. He informed about the schools that have been temporarily designated as relief shelters. He also informed about the toll free no 1077 of Emergency Operating Centre (EOC).
The duo also distributed relief materials to the victims of the Donyi Polo Colony.

Medical team led by Dr. Kabak Tamar also participated and provided first aid relief ,conducted health check up, laboratory test for suspected water borne disease to injured patients at Modirijo and Donyi Polo Colony. Mobile ambulance has also been activated for any medical emergency.


The DC further informed that those victims who lost their lives would be provided ex- gratia after due procedure.



The team were accompanied by DDMO Moromi Dodum Sonam and FO Jogam Angu Gusar

The DC also informed that a body has been retrieved from Harmutty by the local civilians around 8.30 am identified to be of Rigio Tagung, 55, a resident of Modirijo.
